Wordy Wednesday

"Arf Arf" :)

Baby Girl has a love for dogs, big and small. She has this book that has pictures of animals and then you press the button and it makes the animal sound (thank you, Auntie Tina!). One day while we were reading she started repeating the puppy sound. Only her "arf arf" is more of a rough "hmm hmm". She can also do the "roar" for a lion.

Pastor Husband and I truly delight in Baby Girl. Just to watch her as she plays on her own or as she reads, learning what she likes to do (for the moment) and doesn't like. It's just amazing. I asked Pastor Husband a couple of nights ago if he still wondered at the fact that we have been entrusted to raise this little human being. It's a little overwhelming, that thought, but God knows what He's doing!

Wordy Wednesday

I'm not sure why Pastor Husband brought this up this morning. Maybe it was something on the radio. I don't know, but he wanted to know what "keel" meant and why we say "keel over". I didn't know the actual definition, but I told him that I was always imagine a person sloping over to their side, like a slumped over flower. Turns out...I was kind of right!

keel

/kēl/
Verb
(of a boat or ship) Turn over on its side; capsize.

It made for fun car conversation :)

Baby Dos Update

My lovely friend did this for her pregnancy updates so I am going to do the same because I loved reading about her progress. You may find her yummy blog - if smell-o-vision was a reality I would suggest getting it for her baking posts - here: A Vintage Girl in a Modern World.

Here we go!

Week 13
Total weight gain/loss: I don't know yet because I've only had one appointment and don't currently (or ever will) own a scale.
Maternity clothes: Don't need to, but I couldn't resist my maternity jeans because they are so comfy! Thankfully, I put them on and I need to be about 10x's bigger for them to actually fit.
Stretch marks: Nope
Sleep: Horrible. I haven't had a good night's rest since, what seems like, conception. It's just awful. I'm dead tired around 7pm, but Baby Girl goes to bed at 830pm. I'm ready for bed around 930pm and then I am WIDE AWAKE until 1am!
Best moment from this week: Actually looking pregnant because I feel like it just gives me the right-away for everything.
Miss anything: Being able to pick up Baby Girl for any reason and not having it kill my back.
Movement: Yup, but none that I can feel yet
Food cravings: Everything. Anytime a type of food is mention I want it.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Pureed vegetables. Thank goodness Baby Girl has more teeth now so it's bite-sized pieces of veggies for her now.
Have you started to show yet: (see best moment answer above)
Gender prediction: Boy
Labor signs: Nope
Belly button in or out: In
Wedding rings on or off: On
Happy or moody: Emotional...even stupid songs are making me cry.
Looking forward to: My next appointment to hear the heartbeat.

We're Back!

Not that we went anywhere, in fact, the holidays were quiet and spent at home. Very nice! Christmas we were at home and Pastor Husband's parents came over for a little visit. On New Year's Eve I went out and got him cheese plate because it's his most favorite thing in the world. After Baby Girl went to bed he ate cheese and we played Scrabble. No one one because around 1130pm we were both ready to pass out. After cleaning up and getting ready for bed it was almost midnight. We wished each other "happy new year", kissed, and rolled over and went to sleep. Party animals!

A couple of days ago, I was in the kitchen for the entire morning making pre-ready eggs for our breakfast. I really hate making breakfast. I don't really like eating it for that matter. So, I decided to have some already-made scrambled eggs to at least take the every morning cooking step away. I made one batch with half of them with cheese and the other half with tomatoes. I whisked my eggs because we really only eat scrambled eggs. Put them in a cupcake tin and baked for about 20 mins or until cooked through. It does save some time in the morning and makes me more likely to eat.

I also made some strawberry/blueberry yogurt for Baby Girl. I just pureed the berries, but not completely. She has four teeth now, we got to use them! A couple of spoonfuls of the berries and a couple of plain Greek yogurt and we now have a yummy snack.

While I was doing all that, Baby Girl was doing all this:
